These are just a few of the things I’ve been thinking about lately related to my identity in Christ and who I am. This is just a start, there’s sooooo much more and I’ll probably add to the list as I think:)
Because of the sacrifice Christ became, we have the identity of a sin-free person when we accept God’s gift of forgiveness, but with grace still extended to us because we aren’t perfect.
Jesus says:
I am loved: John 3:16, Jeremiah 31:3, 1 John 4:10, Romans 5:8
I am precious: Isaiah 43:4
I am freed: Romans 8:15
I don’t need to be afraid: Isaiah 41:13 &10, 2 Timothy 1:7, Psalm 27:1-2, Mark 5:36b, Isaiah 51:12-13, Psalm 56:3-4, Matthew 10:29-31, Psalm 46:1-3, Hebrews 13:5b-6
I don’t need to worry: Philippians 4:6-7, 1 Peter 5:7, Luke 12:25-26, Matthew 6:25-27
I can have peace: John 14:27, Isaiah 26:3-4
Everything happens for a reason: Romans 8:28
God is my comfort: Psalm 94:18-19, 2 Corinthians 1:3-7, Isaiah 63:9, Isaiah 66:13
Hard times help me grow: 2 Corinthians 1:9, James 1:2-4, 1 Peter 1:6-7, 1 Peter 4:12-13, Romans 5:3-4
I am forgiven: 1 John 1:9, Isaiah 1:18, Psalm 103:3, Hebrews 8:12, Hebrews 10:17-18, Ephesians 4:32
I have life: 1 John 5:12, John 3:16-17, John 4:14
I can persevere: Hebrews 10:36, Philippians 3:19, James 1:12, James 5:11
I am bought at a price: 1 Corinthians 6:19-20
I cannot earn my salvation: Ephesians 2:8-9
My own strength and deeds are worth less than nothing: Isaiah 41:24, Isaiah 57:12, Isaiah 64:6
God will never forget me: Isaiah 49:15, Isaiah 44:21
God chose me: Isaiah 41:9
